Ottoman Empire Sultans

There were various Ottoman Empire Sultans, during the entire existence of the mighty Empire. But it was during the rise of this Empire that the mighty Sultans started to come into existence. The following are the few of the most important ones:

Osamn I

The Byzantine city which was in Sogut had fallen to Osman I in around 1265. This was the starting of the various cities as well as villages which the Ottoman Turks had captures during 1300's and also 1310's. Osman I had also laid siege to the various important forts in Byzantine. Even Yeinsehir was captured also Bursa was captured just before Osamn I, one of the most famous Ottoman Empire sultans had passed away.

Orhan I

This Ottoman Empire Sultan was the son of Osman I. He had conquered, in 1331, Nicaea and also Nicomedia in the 1337's and he had also managed to establish a capital which was in Bursa. During the reign of this sultan, the entire Empire had been organised as a state which had a new sort of currency, modernized army and also government.

He had married Theodora who was the daughter of the Byzantine prince, John V Palaeologus. When John VI had become the co emperor, Orhan had been allowed to raid Gallipoli, a peninsula, and hence this helped in the Ottoman s getting a stronghold in Europe. In 1360 Orhan passed away and the Empire was left to his successor, Murad I.

Murad I

During the early 1360's the Ottoman army had marched into Thrace along Gallipoli and had captured Edirne and also Philippopolis and hence had forced the Byzantines to pay their tributes. In around 1366, count Amadeus VI of Savoy had started a minor crusade and had driven away all of the Turks from Europe except Fallipoli. The next year, the Ottoman Empire Sultan, Murad had attacked and gotten back most of Thrace. In 1370's he had attacks deeper into Europe and he managed to get Bulgaria and various other cities.

In 1383 he had declared himself as the self proclaimed Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. After this had had started his new campaign in Europe. In 1385 Sofia fell and Nis in the next year. In 1387 the conquests of the Ottomans had halted as the Serbs had managed to win in the Battle of Plocnic but two years later they won against the Serbs but this Ottoman Empire sultan had been murdered. His son, Bayezid surpassed him.
