The Turkish Empire is also known as the Ottoman Empire by the contemporaries. This Empire was at the height of their power in the 16 as well as in the 17th century. The territories which this Empire was responsible to control were southwestern Asia, southeastern Europe as well as North Africa.
There were total 29 provinces in the Empire along with some vassal states. The capital city of the Ottoman Empire was Constantinople. One of the most popular emperors of this period was Suleiman the magnificent.

This Empire almost becomes the centre of interactions for the eastern and the western parts of the world. The influence of the Ottoman Empire was quite huge. This Empire created relationships with different other communities and made them their allies.

It is a general assumption that the Christians and the Ottoman s were always under pressure and the relationship evolved under hostility as well as conflict. But this cannot be taken as the complete truth because the Ottomans were not much against the Christians.

In fact they favored the Christians because they knew about the developments going on in the western world. They even wanted the people from the western world should come and trade in their Empire.
The cooperation between the Ottoman s and the Christian started as early as the 14th century. Ottoman Empire allies with the Christians were made in two levels. First of all the allies were in the level of the individuals.
The Christians were actually put in service by the Ottoman s. The success of the Ottoman Empire can be credited to a certain extent to the Christians. Other than the individual level the Ottoman s also included the Christians in the state level.
The Ottomans were quite strategic and they knew what would be good for their Empire. This is one of the reasons why they kept away from fighting with their neighboring Christian states. Other than being strategic the Ottoman s were diplomatic as well as pragmatic at the same time.
Later on the Ottoman Empire even allied with countries like France, Great Britain and Russia. Ottoman Empire allies were always important to this Empire and they even sketched some of the achievements of this Empire.
